Mike Maio, former El Camino Real football coach who guided the Conquistadores to four City Section baseball championships, is coming out of retirement to coach defensive backs at Oaks Christian High.

Maio, who lives near the school in Westlake Village, retired from coaching after directing El Camino Real to the 1998 City baseball title. He coached baseball for 16 years at El Camino Real and last coached football in 1996.

“We’re fortunate to get someone of his experience, expertise and character,” Oaks Christian Coach Bill Redell said.
