In another nonleague doubleheader:

Savanna 8-3, Santa Ana Valley 0-1--Stephanie Quam pitched a two-hitter with 11 strikeouts for Savanna (5-1) in the first game.

In the second game, Heather Mills had a triple and a run batted in and Victoria Garcia had three hits for the Rebels.

In the championship game of the Costa Mesa tournament:

Century 11, Corona del Mar 0 (5, mercy)--Crystal Soto gave up six hits to earn the victory for Century.

In the semifinals, Century defeated Costa Mesa, 5-1, in a game shortened to six innings by time limit. Center fielder Carince Rodriguez had three hits and scored three runs.

Corona del Mar defeated Newport Harbor, 6-5, as freshman designated hitter Katrina Redelsheimer drove in the winning run with a two-out single in the bottom of the ninth.

In consolation games:

Santa Ana 2, Los Amigos 1--Second baseman Maria DeLeon was three for three and drove in the winning run in the fourth inning with a two-out single to right, scoring Rebecca Burt, who had reached on an error.

In a pool-play game at the Cypress tournament:

Troy 1, Western 0--Sophomore Emily Hively (4-1) pitched a no-hitter with eight strikeouts for Troy. Hively threw a two-hitter in a 1-0 victory against Cerritos Gahr in an earlier game.

In the semifinals of the Downey tournament:

Loara 2, Crescenta Valley 1 (8)--Alicia Owen’s two-out RBI single in the bottom of the eighth inning scored Jenna Wheeler. Loara improved to 6-0.
