Hawks Walk Into Second in Sea View
Laguna Hills moved past Aliso Niguel into second place in the Sea View League baseball race with a 5-4 victory Friday over the host Wolverines.
Chris Johnson’s bases-loaded walk pushed across the go-ahead run in the sixth inning, capping the comeback for the Hawks, who had trailed, 3-0 and 4-2.
Brian Anderson hit two two-run home runs and sophomore left-hander Kevin Barnum gave up two earned runs and six hits in six innings to get the win. Daniel Miltenberger pitched a scoreless seventh to get his fourth save for Laguna Hills (14-10, 10-5).
Anderson hit his first home run in the third inning after Aliso Niguel (17-6, 9-5) converted two singles, two walks and an error into three runs in the second.
After Aliso Niguel’s Chris Fielder drove in a run with a single in the fourth, Anderson tied it up, 4-4, with another two-run home run in the fifth.
Laguna Hills (14-10, 10-5) trails first-place Irvine (17-6, 10-4) by one-half game and leads Aliso Niguel (17-6, 9-5) by one-half game. Laguna Hills hosts Irvine in the final regular-season game Tuesday.
