Northridge Continues Slide Into Pacific, 9-4

Cal State Northridge pitchers allowed 16 hits and Jason Walker of Pacific scattered four runs in 8 1/3 innings to lead the Tigers in a 9-4 Big West Conference baseball victory Saturday at Northridge.

Northridge right-hander Kameron Loe (3-1) allowed 10 hits and three earned runs in 3 2/3 innings.

J.T. Stotts and Jesus Osuna each had three hits for Northridge (27-21, 5-9 in conference play).

Osuna hit his first home run, a solo blast that led off Northridge’s three-run ninth inning.

Walker is 6-6.

Pacific is 22-26, 3-11.

Pepperdine 20, St. Mary’s 2--Tony Garcia had four hits and three runs batted in, and Noah Lowry (13-1) had eight strikeouts for the Waves (34-15, 21-5) in a West Coast Conference game at St. Mary’s.

Glendale 10, Citrus 2--The Vaqueros (30-10, 20-6) clinched the Western State Conference Southern Division title at Citrus.

Glendale swept the season series from second-place Citrus (28-10, 18-8), 4-0.

Valley 11, Bakersfield 2--Chris Walker (1-4) allowed two runs and seven hits, and struck out three in six innings for the Monarchs in a WSC Southern Division victory at Valley.

Cal State Hayward 5-7; Cal Lutheran 2-4--Manny Mosqueda hit his 13th home run and had three RBIs for Cal Lutheran (27-13) in the second game of a nonconference doubleheader at Hayward.

Jeff Meyers hit his 10th home run for the Kingsmen in the first game.

The Kingsmen advanced to the NCAA Division III West Regionals in two weeks at a site to be determined.

HIGH SCHOOL BASEBALL

Crespi 9, Westlake 4--Garrett Tabarez and Jonathon Oller each drove in three runs for the Celts (15-9) in a nonleague game at Westlake (20-6-1), ranked No. 4 in the region by The Times.
