Cal State Fullerton’s softball team scored four runs in the second inning and three in the third on its way to a 10-1 victory over Southwest Texas State in a Division I regional game at Tucson.

Jodie Cox pitched a two-hitter for the Titans (48-12), who will play Arizona today.

Tina Hojnik won at No. 6 singles and led defending champion Georgia to a 4-0 victory over USC in the quarterfinal round of the NCAA women’s team championships at Stone Mountain, Ga.

Second-seeded Georgia will face No. 6 Vanderbilt, a 4-1 winner over Duke, in a semifinal match today. Top-seeded Stanford, a 4-0 winner over Arizona State, will face Florida, which defeated No. 12 Washington, 4-0.

The USC baseball team clinched at least a share of the Pacific 10 Conference championship with a 7-3 victory in 10 innings against Oregon State at Corvalis, Ore. The Trojans can win the title outright with a victory today or a Stanford loss at Washington State.

Top-seeded Stanford (23-1) begins play today in the NCAA men’s tennis championships at Athens, Ga., against 16th-seeded Pepperdine (19-7).

Other local schools involved are second-seeded UCLA (20-2), which will face Washington, and USC (15-8), which faces Texas Christian.
