Redlands (11-0) vs. Santa Ana Mater Dei (7-4) at Santa Ana Stadium, 7:30 p.m.--Mater Dei may have slipped a notch this season, but the Monarchs have made the playoffs 15 consecutive years and know a few things about coming through in the clutch. Redlands, the only unbeaten and untied team in Division I, is an upstart looking for its first title since 1961. The run-oriented Terriers have found a winning formula in the rushing tandem of Ryan Rogers and Herman McBroom, who operate out of a wing-T formation. Redlands also features a defense that has shut out four opponents. Mater Dei has won six of its last seven games behind a balanced offense, led by quarterback Colt Brennan and tailback Rafael Rice. But it was the defense that came through late in Mater Dei’s first-round 12-7 victory over Long Beach Jordan.
