CAL STATE NORTHRIDGE (1-1) AT HOWARD (1-2), 4 P.M.--Northridge senior Markus Carr set a school and Big West Conference record with 11 steals in a 101-47 victory over Dominican last Monday. Carr is averaging 29.5 points. Kyle Williams scored 26 points and was the only Howard player to reach double figures in an 85-72 loss to St. Francis (N.Y.) College on Saturday.

Mike Bresnahan previously covered the Lakers for the Los Angeles Times. He started the beat in 2004, a month after Shaquille O’Neal was traded, and covered several seasons of mediocrity before the Lakers won back-to-back championships in 2009 and 2010. Now they’re back to mediocrity. Bresnahan is from Los Angeles, started with The Times after graduating the University of Wisconsin in 1994, and has also covered the L.A.
