Chaffey, Palomar Meet for Berth in Title Game
Undefeated Chaffey College will host once-beaten Palomar in the Southern California Bowl as several community colleges will play in postseason games Saturday.
Chaffey (10-0), ranked third in the state, will be trying to reach its first state championship game. Fourth-ranked Palomar (9-1) suffered its only loss in the fourth week to El Camino. The winner will play the Fresno-San Francisco winner on Dec. 8 at King Bowl Stadium in Visalia.
In another top-level game, Pasadena (9-1) plays Grossmont (9-1) in the South County Bowl at Southwestern College in Chula Vista.
Other bowl games involving Southland teams include:
* Canyons (9-1) hosts Saddleback (7-3) in the Western State Bowl;
* Antelope Valley (7-3) playing at Bakersfield (8-2) in the Shrine Potato bowl;
* Allan Hancock (7-3) at Cerritos (6-4) in the Strawberry Bowl;
* Mt. San Jacinto (6-4) vs. Long Beach (6-4) at East L.A. College in the CHPs for Kids Bowl;
* Glendale (6-4) vs. Fullerton (6-4) at Santa Monica College in the US Bank Beach Bowl.
