Another Day, another display.

Mission Viejo , which has made other football teams look like junior-varsity squads this season, added another team to the list on Friday.

This time, however, it was the No. 12 team in The Times’ Top 25 rankings.

Second-ranked Mission Viejo defeated Anahiem Esperanza, 35-13, in front of about 3,000, who watched the Diablos and Robbie Dubois run their nonleague record to 5-0.

Dubois, the powerful senior tailback, rushed 20 times for 151 yards. He rushed for three touchdowns and added another on a 12-yard pass reception. He didn’t play in the fourth quarter.

It’s the fourth time in five games that Mission Viejo has scored at least 35 points--when the Diablos didn’t, they beat perennial power Santa Ana Mater Dei, 28-14.

Esperanza (3-2) avoided a shutout by scoring twice in the final 10 seconds, including a game-ending Hail Mary after recovering an onside kick.

“I am very surprised by the dominance, how we’re playing and putting up that many points on offense and shutting them down as much as we are on defense,” said Dubois, who scored on runs of 15 and four yards in the first half.

Before the reserve players took over in the fourth quarter, Mission Viejo had outgained Esperanza, 359-124, and held a 35-0 lead.

Joe Fleskoski intercepted two passes, both setting up touchdowns for the Diablos, and linebacker Ryan Powdrell had his way with the Aztec offense.

‘We couldn’t block Powdrell, and they whipped us up front,” said Gary Meek, Esperanza’s coach.

Mission Viejo dominated from the outset, the entire first half seemingly played on the Esperanza side of the 50-yard line.

The Diablos’ worst field position after the opening kickoff was its own 41 yard line.

Against one of the top programs in Southern California, Mission Viejo outgained Esperanza in the first half, 245-80.

Mission Viejo took a 21-0 lead into the third quarter.

Every week, Mission Viejo seems to get a little more balanced. Esperanza put nine guys in the box and tried to make quarterback Jordan Palmer beat them.

He completed 10 of 21 for 126 yards.
