4 Men Die in 2 Drive-By Shootings

Two drive-by shootings within minutes of each other in South-Central Los Angeles on Saturday left four men dead in what police believe are gang-related slayings.

Police are investigating whether another man critically injured by gunfire about the same time was involved in one of the incidents, said Officer Guillermo Campos, a Los Angeles Police Department spokesman.

The first shooting occurred about 11:30 p.m. when Isaac Miller, 30, was hit by bullets fired from another car as he drove north on Van Ness Avenue near 67th Street.

Struck numerous times, Miller drove into a parked vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene. A few minutes later, police found a man wounded by gunfire sitting in a car five blocks away.

He was taken to a hospital and listed in critical condition with back wounds. Police are investigating whether the two incidents are related.

About 10 minutes later, three young men were gunned down by gunfire from a passing car as they pulled into a driveway on South Madden Avenue.

Pronounced dead at the scene were Timothy Jones, 21, his cousin, Traonn Nutt, 21, and Theran Isach Miller, 22.

Police said the motive is unknown, but they believe the shooting was gang-related.

Police said no arrests have been made and the investigation is ongoing.
