Beckerman Gives Up Coaching at University

Jon Beckerman has resigned as Los Angeles University baseball coach to pursue a career in administration at the school.

Beckerman, who will continue to teach health and physical education, coached the Wildcats for nine seasons, compiling a 160-99 record. University reached the City Section Invitational playoff semifinals last season. Ross Rosenfeld, a 1986 University graduate who has been the team’s assistant coach the last five years, will replace Beckerman.

Bolch was once selected by NBA TV’s “The Starters” as the “Worst of the Week” after questioning their celebrity journalism-style questions at an NBA All-Star game and considers it one of his finer moments.
