From Staff and Wire Reports

Investigators have found no evidence that leaking sewer lines are causing the high bacteria counts that prompted county health officials to close nearly half a mile of Huntington State Beach last week.

Health officials closed 2,000 feet of beach around Magnolia Street. State parks officials first checked three restrooms but found no evidence that waste was flowing into the surf. Investigations will continue, said Don Ito, Orange County’s superintendent for state parks.
