Man Sought in Sexual Assault, Break-Ins
Police are searching for a man who sexually assaulted a woman in her apartment and broke into the apartments of at least two other women, all near Cal State Northridge, during the past two weeks.
The first attack occurred at 5:50 a.m. Nov. 21 in the 9600 block of Reseda Boulevard, Los Angeles police said. At 8:30 a.m. on Nov. 25, the same man is believed to have entered an apartment in the 17800 block of Merridy Street but fled when confronted by the 31-year-old female occupant, police said.
The same man is suspected of entering another apartment in the 9700 block of Zelzah Avenue about 5:30 a.m. the following day. He fled when the 20-year-old female occupant screamed, police said.
Police said the man may have also committed burglaries in the same area. He is described as 6 feet tall and wearing a hooded sweatshirt and basketball shorts during the break-ins.
