Marina High Wins Academic Decathlon
From Times Staff Writers
Marina High School has won its first Orange County Academic Decathlon, beating 75 teams. Friday’s win means the high school will represent Orange County in the state tournament next month in Modesto.
The Marina team began studying for the event in June. Students took a summer course and set up outside study sessions. After school began in the fall, students met for one period a day and spent hundreds of hours in the afternoon and evening preparing for the competition.
