From Times Wire Reports

A Huntington Beach woman vacationing in France was crushed to death over the weekend by an oncoming train after getting out on the wrong side of her train at a station, officials said.

Dana Staller, 22, had been traveling from Bayonne to Hendaye with her 18-year-old sister, and mistakenly got out on the wrong side of the car, police and rescue officials said. French passenger trains have doors on both sides.

As Staller stepped onto the tracks at 6:10 p.m. Sunday, she was hit by a train that did not stop at the Hendaye-Plage station.
