Builder Fined $200,000 for Polluted Runoff

A developer was fined nearly $200,000 for failing to control a housing project’s polluted runoff, which clogged a creek and blocked a road in San Luis Obispo County’s worst erosion case ever.
The Central Coast Regional Water Quality Control Board fined Weyrich Development Co. $192,375 for causing severe erosion and creek sedimentation last year. Weyrich said it will appeal the fine.
