La Reina High Wins Mock Trial Event

La Reina High School in Thousand Oaks took first place in the Ventura County mock trial competition this week.
The school, which has won 10 past county championships, will go to the state championships in San Jose on March 23 to 25.
Eileen DeBruno, mock trial moderator, said the finals featured two trials. Each team won points for arguments, cross-examinations, and opening and closing statements. The final scores were La Reina 179, Westlake High 164, Thousand Oaks High 158 and Buena High 151.
