Troy Edges Woodbridge

Fullerton Troy, ranked No. 4 in the Southland by The Times, squeezed past No. 6 Irvine Woodbridge by virtue of a tiebreaker Tuesday in a nonleague boys’ tennis match at Woodbridge High.

The match ended in a 9-9 tie, but Troy won on games, 82-74.

Troy’s Jeffery Das, who defeated Erik Oijala, 6-3, in a No. 1 singles match, improved to 21-0 this season.

In baseball:

Huntington Beach Edison 4, San Clemente 1--Jeff Gilmore doubled and hit his first home run of the year in the fourth for No. 6 Edison (4-2) at Edison.

Encino Crespi 11, Loyola 5--Trevor Plouffe had two home runs and five runs batted in for Crespi (4-2, 1-0). Cooper Bergdahl doubled and scored twice for host Loyola (2-4, 0-1).

Canyon Country Canyon 14, Palmdale 3--Josh Schreck had a three-run home run and drove in six runs for host Canyon (6-0). Dan Hagman added a two-run homer for No. 12 Canyon.

In softball:

Hacienda Heights Wilson 2, Glendora St. Lucy’s 1--Tiffanie Wedell singled home Sherice Harton with two outs in the bottom of the seventh to break a 1-1 tie and lift No. 2 Wilson (8-0) in an Arroyo tournament quarterfinal.

South Pasadena 5, Burbank Burroughs 4--Stephanie Karasawa drove in Sadie Dawson with a two-out single that completed a four-run rally in the bottom of the seventh and won the game for South Pasadena (2-2) at Orange Grove Park in South Pasadena.

In boys’ golf:

Santa Barbara San Marcos 366, Santa Barbara 400--Kevin Larsen shot a one-under 71 for top-ranked San Marcos (5-0, 2-0) at Sandpiper Golf Course.

Riverside Poly 192, Moreno Valley 283--Freshman Jason Fair shot a one-under 35 at the Quail Ranch Golf Club to take medalist honors for No. 4 Riverside Poly (4-0, 1-0).

Camarillo 388, Hueneme 455--Colin Wilcox (7-0, 1-0 in league) fired an even-par 71 and was medalist for No. 7 Camarillo (7-0, 1-0) at Las Posas Country Club.
