Rancho Verde Hires Three Coaches

Moreno Valley Rancho Verde High will hire three coaches, pending school board approval.
Travis Showalter, who previously served as boys’ basketball coach and athletic director at Lawndale Leuzinger, will take over the Mustang boys’ basketball program.
Karen Rudolph is coming over from Lake Arrowhead Rim of the World High to head the girls’ basketball program. She led Rim of the World to at least a share of three consecutive league titles. She has also served as a coach at Santa Ana Valley.
Chelcee Clifton, who coached softball part of this season at Orange High, has been hired to coach girls’ volleyball.

In other coaching news:
* Nathan Harrison has been hired to coach boys’ basketball at Anaheim Canyon, replacing Dave Taylor, who had coached the Comanches for three seasons. Harrigan was an assistant boys’ basketball coach at Irvine Northwood the past two seasons. Canyon finished 10-16 this season.
* Mark Stewart has been hired to coach boys’ basketball at La Habra High. Stewart, who coached boys’ basketball at Paramount the past eight seasons, replaces Craig Falconer, who resigned at the end of this season. Falconer led the Highlanders to a 19-10 record.
* Erich Moreno has resigned as track and field coach at Huntington Beach Edison to become the coach at Orange Coast College.
