Barstow, the defending state Division III champion, makes the jump from eighth to fifth after winning the Division II title of the Yucaipa Invitational on Saturday. Katella makes its first appearance in the top 10 after defeating former No. 9 St. John Bosco in the large-schools race of the Roadrunner Invitational on Saturday.

There are no changes among the top eight teams in the rankings, but there could be plenty next week. Hesperia Sultana and Murrieta Valley will meet in the Inland Empire Challenge at Guasti Regional Park in Ontario on Saturday, and Canyon Country Canyon, Anaheim Esperanza, Chino Hills Ayala, Long Beach Wilson and Simi Valley Royal in the Clovis Invitational.

GIRLS’ GOLF

Camarillo continues to post impressive numbers. The Scorpions shot 203 in a victory this week and are averaging 210 even though they haven’t played a match with the their top six golfers in the lineup. Fullerton Rosary got back on track with a 211-221 Serra League victory over Santa Margarita. It was a season-best score for Rosary.

GIRLS’ TENNIS

Corona del Mar retains the top spot with victories over Rolling Hills Estates Peninsula and Laguna Beach, and Palm Desert strengthened its hold on No. 2 with a decisive victory over No. 4 Dana Point Dana Hills. Peninsula moves up a spot after beating previously sixth-ranked Fullerton Troy, which was caught short-handed with freshman standout Cosmina Ciobanu sidelined because of a pulled stomach muscle.

GIRLS’ VOLLEYBALL

There was no movement in the rankings this week after most teams played low-key matches last week. The exceptions were Newport Harbor, which finished third at the Chicago Mother McAuley tournament, and in a match between Nos. 7 and 8, with Santa Ana Mater Dei defeating Torrance Bishop Montgomery in a five-game nonleague match last week, winning the final game, 16-14.

BOYS’ WATER POLO

A light week of competition left few changes among the top 10. South Pasadena makes its debut after finishing third in the Villa Park tournament. The Tigers, ranked No. 1 in Southern Section Division III, defeated host Villa Park, 6-5, in the third-place game. They also defeated LaVerne Bonita, the top-ranked team in Division VI, 6-5, in a nonleague game earlier in the week.
