Compactor at Plant Cuts Off Worker’s Legs

The legs of a Saticoy recycling plant worker were cut off below the knee in an industrial accident Tuesday, authorities said.
Witnesses told firefighters that the 28-year-old employee of Paradise Industries got caught in a cardboard compactor.
He was treated at Ventura County Medical Center’s emergency room and transferred to another hospital, a nursing supervisor said. His name was not released.
