Baldwin Park Girl Identified as Dragging Victim
A 17-year-old who was apparently killed and then dragged four miles by a car to Hacienda Heights was identified Tuesday as Gloria Gaxiola of Baldwin Park.
Sheriff’s investigators said they believe Gaxiola was killed near Turnbull Canyon Road and Skyline Drive and dragged to Colima Road and Hacienda Boulevard. Someone saw her body early Saturday and called the California Highway Patrol.
Sheriff’s spokesman Richard Weston said the family initially asked that Gaxiola’s name not be released. But later it was decided to release her name in hopes that someone with information about her death would call the sheriff’s homicide bureau at (323) 890-5638 or 890-5699.
