From Times Staff and Wire Reports

Two men have been arrested after leading Huntington Beach police on high-speed chases, officials said Tuesday. Randy Herbert Dukes, 40, of Anaheim and Thanh Duy Le, 35, of Fountain Valley are being held at the Huntington Beach City Jail in separate incidents.

Huntington Beach Police Lt. Bruce Kelly said officers began pursuing Dukes shortly before 8 p.m. Monday because he was driving a stolen car and failed to stop when ordered to do so. The pursuit reached speeds of 90 mph. Dukes, who is on parole, is being held on suspicion of evading police, assault with a deadly weapon and auto theft, among other charges.

About two hours later, police arrested Le after he led police on a chase to Newport Beach then back to Huntington Beach. Police had tried to stop him because he had no license plates on his vehicle, but he sped toward an officer, Kelly said.
