Auburn sophomore tailback Carnell “Cadillac” Williams, the Southeastern Conference’s leading rusher with 745 yards, is out for the season after breaking his left leg in the Tigers’ 30-23 overtime loss at Florida on Saturday.

Williams was scheduled to have surgery Monday. He was injured in the second quarter when Florida’s Robert Cromartie rolled over the back of his ankle while making a tackle.

Wisconsin receiver Lee Evans will not play this season.

Coach Barry Alvarez said that doctors decided Evans needs more time to heal and rest after tearing the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee in a spring game in April.

An appeals committee upheld the suspension of Maine starting receivers Stefan Gomes and Paris Minor, who were accused of sexually assaulting a student June 11.

The two were kicked off the team and suspended from the university last month. No charges have been filed.
