Girl, 9, Riding in Car Wounded by Gunfire

A 9-year-old girl was critically injured late Sunday in Venice when suspected gang members opened fire on a car she was riding in, police said.
The shooting occurred during a car chase from Culver City in which several bullets were fired at the vehicle and one hit the girl in the chest, police said.
The chase concluded in Venice near California and Electric avenues. The girl was taken to a nearby hospital, where she was in critical condition but expected to survive, police said.
