From Times Wire Reports

A Fresno man imprisoned for ordering his foster daughter to exercise in 100-degree heat and not treating injuries that led to the 10-year-old’s death has been released from prison because of his poor health.

Freddie Hayes, 48, was released Wednesday and sentenced to five years’ probation.

Hayes has gout, hypertension, hepatitis C and coronary artery disease and the chronic pain disorder fibromyalgia, said his lawyer, Ernest Kinney.

A judge will reevaluate Hayes’ health during an Oct. 6 hearing.
