Few Tickets Remain for James Game

Some upper-level general admission seats remain for the Pangos Dream Classic, a four-game boys’ basketball event that features a matchup between potential Akron (Ohio) St. Vincent-St. Mary with NBA lottery pick LeBron James and Santa Ana Mater Dei, on Saturday at Pauley Pavilion.

Admission, which includes all four games, is $10. Tickets are available at UCLA’s Central Ticket Office and at all Ticketmaster locations. The St. Vincent-St. Mary vs. Mater Dei game will be televised live at 6:30 p.m. by ESPN2.

Nine teams from The Times’ boys’ and girls’ basketball rankings will be participating in the fourth California Hoops Challenge today at Lynwood High.

The 18th-ranked Torrance Bishop Montgomery girls’ team will meet fourth-ranked Long Beach Wilson at 10:30 a.m., followed by another girls’ game at noon between sixth-ranked Long Beach Poly and La Jolla Country Day. To complete the day’s first session, No. 15 L.A. Verbum Dei plays No. 18 L.A. Price in a boys’ game at 1:30 p.m.

The second session features all boys’ games and begins at 3:30 with a matchup between Van Nuys Montclair Prep and Temecula Chaparral, followed by No. 5 Bishop Montgomery meeting No. 10 North Hollywood Harvard-Westlake at 5. Bakersfield Garces plays No. 24 Rialto Eisenhower at 6:30, followed at 8 by a matchup between No. 2 L.A. Fairfax and Miami (Fla.) Christian.

Tickets for the first session are $5. Tickets for the second session are $5 for children and $8 for adults, but a 50% discount will be applied for those with ticket stubs from the first session.
