BOYS’ BASKETBALL

Kevin Sweeney and Creighton Chow, Temple City: Sweeney had a career-high 44 points to go with 10 rebounds and five steals, and Chow added 23 points for Temple City in an 81-71 Rio Hondo League victory over Blair.

Davis Cantor, Los Angeles Loyola: Had 18 points, including 15 on three-point baskets, for Loyola (12-3, 2-0) in a 90-42 Mission League victory over Crespi.

John Wiley and Mike Verrillo, Westlake Village Westlake: Wiley scored 28 points and Verrillo added 24 points, 10 assists and five steals for Westlake (13-4, 2-0) in a 73-64 Marmonte League victory at Agoura (7-7, 0-2), which got 17 points from John Mattison.

GIRLS’ BASKETBALL

Jessica Fisiikava, San Bernardino Cajon: She scored eight of her 25 points in overtime for Cajon (16-0, 2-0) in a 59-53 victory in a San Andreas League game at San Bernardino (7-6, 0-1).

Ashley Cravens, Sepulveda Monroe: She had 20 rebounds to go with seven points for Sepulveda Monroe, which rallied from an eight-point halftime deficit and limited visiting Birmingham to two points in the fourth quarter of a 37-35 nonleague victory for the Vikings.

BOYS’ SOCCER

Erasmo Solorzano, Riverside Poly: He broke a 1-1 tie with a goal in the 52nd minute for Riverside Poly (10-3-1), the No. 4-ranked team in the Times’ regional poll, in the Bears’ 2-1 victory in a nonleague game at Corona.

Paul Wendel, Los Angeles Loyola: Paul Wendel scored the game-winning goal off a corner kick in the 78th minute to lift Loyola (9-1-5, 2-0) to a 2-1 victory in a Mission League game at Crespi (4-5-5, 0-2).

Beckham Thomas and Will Johnson, Santa Margarita: Thomas scored twice, in the 45th and 50th minutes, and Johnson made four saves to post his 13th shutout for top-ranked Santa Margarita (16-0) in a 3-0 Serra League win over Servite.

GIRLS’ SOCCER

Jessica Bosshever and Melissa Bishop, Los Angeles Marlborough: Bosshever had two goals and Bishop posted her third shutout for Marlborough (6-4-0, 3-1-0) in a 5-0 victory over Immaculate Heart in a Sunshine League game.

Jenna Murphy and Annie Wright, Newport Harbor: Murphy and Wright each scored two goals to help Newport Harbor, the No. 3-ranked team in the Times’ poll, to a 7-4 victory over Santa Margarita, the No. 4-ranked team.
