Wildfire Expected to Be Contained Today

A lightning-sparked wildfire that has scorched nearly 19,000 acres across the Chihuahua Valley in San Diego County was expected to be contained by today.
The Coyote Fire began last Wednesday along the remote border of Riverside and San Diego counties, about 30 miles southeast of Temecula.
The fire destroyed parts of a research facility operated by San Diego State University, but nearby homes were spared. Fire officials estimated the damage at $190,600.
