Woman Killed by Car; Driver May Have Fainted
From Times Staff Reports
An elderly woman was struck and killed by a car Monday when its driver, who may have fainted, swerved onto the sidewalk, police said.
The accident happened about 4 p.m. in the 14100 block of Hawthorne Boulevard.
The driver told police that she was returning from a medical procedure, Sgt. Keith Kauffman said, and felt faint.
Police were trying to determine the victim’s identity.
