Seven was the lucky number Saturday for two quarterbacks.
Symons played only 2 1/2 quarters and threw for 428 yards as the Red Raiders (7-3, 4-2 Big 12) routed Baylor, 62-14, at Waco, Texas. It was his fifth game with at least five touchdowns, pushing his NCAA-leading season total to 44.
Three of Rislov's seven scoring passes were to Courtney Anderson as the Spartans (3-6, 2-4 Western Athletic) crushed Texas El Paso, 69-41, at El Paso.
Rislov completed 28 of 39 passes with no interceptions. He had 461 yards and scoring passes of 48, 25, nine, 58, 66 and six yards as San Jose State took a 48-20 halftime lead. He added a 26-yard score in the fourth quarter.
Rislov was on pace to break the NCAA record of 716 passing yards set in 1990 by Houston's David Klingler. But the Spartans had a comfortable lead and Rislov didn't get the necessary attempts.
