GIRLS’ VOLLEYBALL

Mallorie Croal, Mater Dei: She had 16 kills in the Monarchs’ 25-16, 25-22, 21-25, 25-22 nonleague victory at San Marcos. Mater Dei is ranked No. 1 in the Southland by The Times.

BOYS’ WATER POLO

Grant Miller, Damien: He had eight goals, three steals and three assists as the visiting Spartans, No. 6 in The Times’ rankings, topped Riverside Poly, 13-5, in a rematch of last year’s Southern Section Division V title game. Damien won that game, 10-9.

CROSS-COUNTRY

Crystal Reed, Fountain Valley: The sophomore won the Division I girls’ race of the Central Park Invitational in 18:29 for her third consecutive victory in an invitational race.
