A preseason look at the top girls’ tennis teams in the Southland:

1. Calabasas (SS-Div. I, 22-2)

Loaded team would be unbeatable with Karina Porushkevich and Monica Wiesener. Without them, Coyotes still might be unstoppable.

2. Campbell Hall (SS-Div. III, 14-5-1)

Alli Krasnopolsky, Daron Moore and sisters Cheyenne and Katarina Reveche have their eyes on a division title and Brentwood, which beat Vikings three times last year.

3. Palm Desert (SS-Div. II, 21-0)

Aztecs have Hillary Collins, who won the USTA Southern California girls’ 16 sectional title, and a host of others to defend Division II title.

4. Corona del Mar (SS-Div. I, 18-4)

Senior Brittany Holland, who won the Southern Section doubles title last season, lends a veteran touch to an influx of freshman talent.

5. Laguna Beach (SS-Div. I, 19-5)

Sophomore Claire Rietsch leads a youthful team that took opponents by surprise last season.

6. Beverly Hills (SS-Div. I, 21-1)

Riza Zalameda still hasn’t graduated, and she’s fresh off a USTA girls’ 18 Super National doubles title, so last year’s division runner-up is close to being as good as it was then.

7. Peninsula (SS-Div. I, 18-5)

Alex Jurewitz, Macall Harkins and a group of talented freshmen and sophomores should help Panthers match up with league rival Beverly Hills, and just about everyone else.

8. Brentwood (SS-Div. III, 20-2)

Defending division champion gets a boost with addition of junior Megan Doheny, a player Eagle coaches had been trying to get out for the team for two years.

9. Troy (SS-Div. II, 20-4)

Any team with Cosmina Ciobanu and Clare Fermin still gets some benefit of the doubt, despite the loss of six players from last year’s division runner-up.

10. Long Beach Poly (SS-Div. III, 16-5)

With two-time USTA boys’ 18 Super National Hardcourt champion Phillip King’s three little sisters -- Ivana, Mindy and Vania -- Jackrabbits match up pretty well with most opponents.
