BOYS’ BASKETBALL
* Manny Fajardo, South Gate: Made an 18-foot, game-winning jumper in the final minute of overtime to finish with 16 points in a 54-52 victory over L.A. Washington in a City Championship first-round game. He also made a game-tying shot at end of regulation.
* Mark Hill and Danny Williams, L.A. Fremont: Hill hit a running jumper for the win as time expired and Williams finished with 22 points and 10 rebounds in a 65-63 victory over Van Nuys Grant in a City Championship first-round game.
* Marcus Lewis, Long Beach Poly: Drove the lane for a game-winning basket with two seconds to play to finish with 23 points in a 66-64 victory over Valencia in a Southern Section Division I-AA first-round game. Jason Lott made a school-record eight three-pointers to finish with a career-high 31 points for Valencia.
* Ryan Towner, Cathedral City: Made a three-pointer as time expired in regulation and made six of eight free throws in overtime to finish with 13 points in a 70-61 victory over Norco in a Division II-AA first-round game.
* Corey Siegel and Brice Gallow, Redondo: Siegel made two free throws with 10 seconds left for the winning margin and Gallow had 24 points in a 54-52 victory over Orange in a Division II-A first-round game.
GIRLS’ BASKETBALL
* Keva Wilson, Los Angeles: Made two free throws with six seconds left for the final margin to finish with 22 points, six rebounds and five assists in a 55-52 victory over Westchester in a City Section first-round game.
BOYS’ SOCCER
* Chris Pontius, Anaheim Servite: Scored two goals, including the game-winner in the 14th minute of overtime, in a 3-2 victory over Long Beach Wilson in a Southern Section Division I first-round game.
* Warren Doyle, Calabasas: Scored the game’s only goal five minutes into the second overtime to help knock off No. 10 Santa Barbara, 1-0, in a Division II first-round game.
GIRLS’ SOCCER
* Elba Menjivar, North Hills Monroe: Scored three goals, including the game-winner three minutes into overtime, in a 3-2 victory over eight-seeded South Gate in the first round of the City Section playoffs.
* Arlene Sotomayor and Claudia Orellena, L.A. Jefferson: Each scored two goals in a 4-2 victory over Canoga Park in City Section playoffs.
