UC Seeks to Keep Meeting Notes Private
The University of California asked the state Supreme Court to help it keep private the transcripts of two 2002 meetings where trustees discussed hiring outside money managers for its equity investments.
The petition stems from a 2003 lawsuit brought by a group including university clerical workers that sought the transcripts and returns from private equity funds.
The university, which released the private equity data last year, must comply with a judge’s order to release the transcripts of the closed-door meetings Monday if the Supreme Court doesn’t intervene.
