Edison International’s Southern California Edison Co. utility expects to spend $1.1 billion to finish construction of an acquired power plant and replace generators at another.

The company disclosed the costs in a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

The utility said it would cost $680 million to replace steam generators at Units 2 and 3 of its San Onofre nuclear plant in San Clemente.

Edison’s share would be $510 million provided other plant partners, which have yet to approve the project, pay their portions of the costs, the company said in the filing.
