* Matt Lawhorn, La Puente Bishop Amat: Threw a two-hit shutout and Eddie Crespo had three hits and an RBI in a 2-0 Serra League victory over Bellflower St. John Bosco.
* Mike Torres, Santa Ana Mater Dei: Drove in Andrew Navarette with the winning run in the fifth inning for the eighth-ranked Monarchs in a 3-2 Serra League victory over Anaheim Servite.
* Willie Cabrera and Matt Dominguez, Chatsworth: Each hit a home run for the No. 4 Chancellors in a 3-1 Chatsworth tournament victory over West Hills Chaminade.
* Brandon Laird, Westminster La Quinta: Went seven for eight, including two home runs, with seven RBIs and six runs scored for the No. 13 Aztecs in a 15-6, 13-3 doubleheader sweep of Portland (Ore.) Wilson.
* Daniel Prieto, Lakewood Mayfair: Had three hits, including a three-run homer and a double, and drove in six runs in a nonleague doubleheader sweep, 3-1 and 10-7, of Burbank Burroughs.

SOFTBALL
* Brittany LaRosa, Diamond Bar: Threw a seven-hit shutout and drove in a run with a squeeze bunt for the fifth-ranked Brahmas in a 2-0 victory over No. 2 Santa Ana Mater Dei in the semifinals of the Anaheim Canyon Michelle Carew Classic. Diamond Bar plays No. 13 Fullerton Rosary on Monday in the championship game.
* Briana Santos, Santa Ana Mater Dei: Threw a five-hitter with seven strikeouts and no walks and had two hits in a 2-0 victory over No. 8 Santa Ana Foothill in the third-place game of the Michelle Carew Classic.
* Karina Ortiz, Garden Grove: Threw a five-hitter with six strikeouts and Garden Grove scored an unearned run in the sixth inning to defeat No. 9 Carson, 1-0, in the Downey tournament championship game. Danira Iolamo threw a two-hitter in the final after throwing a no-hitter in a 2-0 semifinal victory over Paramount.
