Defendant Pleads Guilty to Charges in Rape Case

Pitcairn Island postmaster Dennis Christian, a descendant of Bounty mutineer Fletcher Christian, has pleaded guilty to three charges in a case involving rape and sex with minors.
Dennis Christian, 49, admitted he indecently assaulted a 12-year-old girl in the 1980s. No details of the charges were given.
Seven men on the South Pacific island face a total of 55 charges of rape and sex with minors. Some of the charges relate to alleged incidents in the 1960s.
