30 O.C. Schools Make the Needs-Work List
Thirty schools in Orange County, nearly half in Santa Ana, have joined the list of campuses that have failed to meet testing requirements under the No Child Left Behind Act, the state Education Department announced on Wed- nesday. The schools:
Anaheim City School District: Franklin Elementary, Sunkist Elementary

School standards -- A listing in some editions of Thursday’s California section with an article about federal school accountability standards identified 30 schools as new to the federal watch list. The schools listed were those in Orange County in the first of four stages of scrutiny. Those that meet testing targets two years in a row are removed from the list.

Capistrano Unified School District: Las Palmas Elementary
Fullerton School District: Valencia Park Elementary
Garden Grove Unified School District: Alamitos Intermediate, Doig Intermediate, Zeyen Elementary
La Habra City School District: Arbolita Elementary
Newport Mesa Unified School District: Tewinkle Middle, Wilson Elementary
Orange Unified School District: Fairhaven Elementary, Yorba Middle
Placentia-Yorba Linda Unified School District: Kraemer Junior High, Tynes Elementary
Santa Ana Unified School District: Adams Elementary, Carver Elementary, Davis Elementary, Fremont Elementary, Grant Elementary, Jackson Elementary, King Elementary, Lincoln Elementary, Martin Elementary, Pio Pico Elementary, Romero-Cruz Elementary, Sepulveda Elementary, Walker Elementary, Wilson Elementary
