10-Year-Old Boy Killed in Accidental Shooting
A 10-year-old boy was killed by another youth in an accidental shooting at the Marine Corps base, authorities said.
The incident occurred about 11 a.m. Sunday inside a base home, and the boy used a hunting rifle, said Marine Capt. Juliet Chelkowski, a base spokeswoman. The boys, who were not related, visited the base with their families, she said.
Chelkowski said adults were inside the home when the incident occurred. No additional details were immediately available, including the victim’s identity and how he was shot.
