BOYS’ BASKETBALL

* Eristheo Raif and Joseph Martinez, Los Angeles Belmont: Raif scored 28 points, and Martinez had 14 points, 14 rebounds and five assists as the Sentinels erased a 46-35 halftime deficit and beat Los Angeles Foshay, 72-66, in the Reseda tournament.

* Thomas Frames and Brian Tollette, Los Angeles University: Each finished with 29 points, helping the Wildcats to an 82-75 double-overtime victory in the L.A. Hamilton tournament.

GIRLS’ BASKETBALL

* Rebecca Kepilino, Huntington Beach Edison: Made 15 of 19 shots from the floor and finished with 40 points and 12 rebounds as the Chargers defeated Fountain Valley, 62-33, in a Sunset League opener.

* Candice Brown and Amanda Alvarez, La Puente Bishop Amat: Brown had 16 points and 11 rebounds, and Alvarez scored a career-high 14 points as the Lancers (19-0, 1-0), ranked No. 8 by The Times, routed St. Mary’s Academy, 73-39, in a Del Rey League opener.

BOYS’ SOCCER

* Juan Meza, Huntington Beach Marina: Scored the tying and winning goals as the Vikings rebounded from a 2-0 halftime deficit for a 3-2 Sunset League victory over Huntington Beach Edison, ranked eighth in Division I.

GIRLS’ SOCCER

* Alexis Vallardes and Norma Chavez, Hacienda Heights Wilson: Vallardes scored in the second half of overtime, and Chavez made eight saves in her sixth shutout as the Wildcats beat Los Altos, 1-0, in the Miramonte League.

* Jessica Olsen, Irvine Northwood: Scored three goals -- her first as a varsity player -- in the Timberwolves’ 7-1 Pacific Coast League victory over Laguna Beach.

GIRLS’ WATER POLO

* Stephanie Funston and Allison Romain, Riverside Poly: Funston scored the decisive goal with five seconds left as Bears, No. 3 in the Southern Section Division V, edged second-ranked Redlands, 5-4, in overtime after rallying from a 4-1 halftime deficit. Romain finished with 15 saves.

* Kami Craig and Nicole Louie, Santa Barbara: Scored three goals each, most with help from Bridgette Bugay, who had five assists, as the Dons, ranked No. 1 in the Southern Section Division IV, beat Laguna Beach, 12-5, in a nonleague game. The Breakers are ranked No. 2 in Division II.
