Kim Jin-Kyu scored his first international goal to give South Korea a 1-1 tie with Paraguay in an exhibition Wednesday at the Coliseum.

Kim converted a 10-yard header off Kim Do-Heon’s 28-yard free kick to tie the score in the 48th minute of his seventh international appearance.

Jose Saturnino Cardozo, one of the leading scorers in Mexico’s first division, put Paraguay ahead by converting a penalty kick in the 45th minute. He played in the 2002 World Cup.

South Korea’s Lee Dong-Gook toe-poked a shot inside the right post in second-half stoppage time.

But referee Brian Hall disallowed the goal because Park Jae-Hong committed a handball.

Paraguay’s Mauro Monges had a chance to break the tie in the 65th minute, but goalkeeper Kim Young-Kwang deflected Monges’ 32-yard line drive.
