Big Rig Crashes Into Restaurant, 4 Injured
Four people were injured Sunday when a big-rig driver apparently passed out at the wheel, ran a red light, collided with a car and crashed eight feet into a South Los Angeles restaurant, authorities said.
None of the injuries were life threatening, said Lt. Harry Leung of the Los Angeles Police Department.
The truck, which was not hauling a trailer, was headed north on Avalon Boulevard when the 37-year-old driver ran a red light at Century Boulevard, said LAPD Sgt. R. Cato. The collision, which occurred about 3 p.m., sent the big rig into Tam’s Burgers.
