Principal Will Keep Job Despite Policy Dispute

Sister Mary Vianney will continue as principal of St. John the Baptist School for the coming academic year, according to a parents group at the Catholic school.
Some parents believed that the veteran principal’s job was in jeopardy because she opposed a school policy that would ban the gay fathers of two students from appearing at school functions together.
But Vianney learned Tuesday that her contract would be renewed, said Suzi Brown, incoming president of the school’s parent auxiliary.
