Atlanta 5, at Philadelphia 1: Edgar Renteria homered and doubled home the go-ahead run in the top of the ninth inning. Jeff Francoeur added a three-run homer in the ninth. New closer Bob Wickman made his first appearance since Atlanta acquired him from Cleveland in a trade, pitching a perfect ninth in a non-save situation. Chase Utley extended his hitting streak to 23 games for the Phillies.

Houston 8, at New York 4: Pitcher Roy Oswalt touched off a four-run Astros rally with his second hit of the game. New York led, 3-1, when Oswalt (7-7) opened the fifth with a pop fly that fell off second baseman Jose Valentin’s glove for another hit. The Astros went on to bat around and score four runs to take the lead.

at Washington 7, Chicago 1: Tony Armas Jr. (7-5) gave up one run and three hits in seven innings for his first win since June 4, Alfonso Soriano and Ryan Church homered, and the Nationals beat the Cubs to complete their first home sweep of the season.

Colorado 9, at Arizona 7: Garrett Atkins hit a two-run double with one out in the ninth inning to lift the Rockies. The Rockies rallied against Diamondbacks closer Jorge Julio (1-4), who blew his second save in 14 chances. Julio gave up four runs, three hits and a walk and got only one out.

at Florida 5, Pittsburgh 4: Dan Uggla homered in the third inning, then singled home the winning run with one out in the ninth.

Milwaukee 4, at Cincinnati 1: Tomo Ohka (3-1) gave up three hits in eight innings to help the Brewers avoid a three-game sweep.
