Quarterback Andy Collins threw four touchdown passes, and running back Matt Andersen had a scoring run and scoring catch to lead Occidental to a 38-23 victory over Pomona-Pitzer in a Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Assn. game in Eagle Rock.

The Tigers, who improved to 6-0 overall and 4-0 in the conference, earned the right to keep the Drum, the traditional prize for the winner of Southern California’s oldest college football rivalry, dating to 1895.

The 109th meeting involving the schools wasn’t as close as the score might indicate as Occidental, ranked No. 11 in the American Football Coaches Assn. Division III poll, built a 38-7 lead through three quarters.
