CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Quarterback No. 4 was just good enough to give the Carolina Panthers a victory over the Seattle Seahawks.

Rookie Matt Moore, the fourth starting quarterback for the Panthers (6-8) this season, engineered three scoring drives in the fourth quarter to beat the Seahawks, 13-10.

In a game that was scoreless until the fourth quarter, Moore led the Panthers to their second victory in eight games.

Moore, getting his first start after 44-year-old Vinny Testaverde was unable to play because of what Coach John Fox called general soreness, completed 19 of 27 passes for 208 yards and did not have an interception.

Matt Hasselbeck was 27 for 41 for 274 yards for the Seahawks (9-5), whose winning streak ended at five games.

Seattle’s touchdown came on Hasselbeck’s 15-yard pass to Deion Branch with one second left.

It was part of a miserable day on the ground for the Seahawks, who had their hopes of a first-round playoff bye dashed. Shaun Alexander was held to 17 yards in seven carries and Seattle had only 44 yards rushing.
