Goodbye to Stu

Share

For six years, I was an usher on the Dodger Stadium Club Level. During that time I had the distinct pleasure to meet and chat with Stu Nahan nearly every game day as he would arrive or depart the stadium for his Dodgers pregame show activities. Stu always had a story, a quip, or a trivia question for me along with a laugh. . . . On occasion, his wife, Sandy, would sit on the Club Level where Stu would join her.

When you read the quotes in the obituaries stating Stu was one of the nice guys, don’t believe a word of it. He was the nicest guy. My condolences to Sandy and Stu’s extended family on their loss. Everyone will miss Stu.

I knew and loved Stu Nahan for over 30 years, and I find it hard to imagine a world without him. They say that grief is lessened when it’s shared with others, and I’m sharing mine with millions of sports fans, tens of thousands of people whose lives he touched, an incredibly long list of dear friends, and, of course, his wife, Sandy, and his family of children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

While our world is a sadder place without him, there’s good news for those in heaven. There are enough new stories headed their way to last an eternity.
