An inspiring comeback for Hubbells and wildlife
I much enjoyed Christopher Reynolds’ story [“A Fire’s Survivor,” Sept. 6] on the rebirth and rebuilding of the Hubbell property in Wynola. It’s especially great to know that the quail and other wildlife are coming back after the fire. But Anne Hubbell should listen again. Those careful Southern California quail aren’t calling out the name of Carl Sandburg’s favorite Midwest city, Chicago. They’re calling “cuidado, cuidado, cuidado.”
