The Times’ boys’ basketball all-star team:

*--* G Jerime Anderson, Anaheim Canyon 6-3 Sr. The do-it-all point guard averaged 22.7 points, 7.8 rebounds and six assists for a team with few other options. Anderson scored a season-high 36 points in a 70-51 victory over Villa Park, helping the Comanches finish 10-0 in the Century League. Signed with UCLA. F DeMar DeRozan, Compton 6-6 Sr. An acrobatic wing who can soar above the rim with a mix of power and creativity, handle the ball in transition or stroke a smooth jump shot from outside, DeRozan averaged 30.6 points, 8.9 rebounds and four steals. Scored 25 in final game against Santa Margarita. Signed with USC. G Larry Drew Jr., Taft 6-0 Sr. Emerged as the top player in the City Section after leading the Toreadors to a section championship. Drew’s unselfish style was evident in his 13.9 scoring average, but he could score in bunches when needed. The North Carolina-bound point guard also averaged 9.2 assists and 3.4 steals. G Jordan Hamilton, Dominguez 6-7 Jr. Filled a much-needed scoring void after transferring from Los Angeles Dorsey, averaging nearly 24 points in leading the Dons to the Southern Section Division I-AA title and Division I state championship game. Was at his best in regional final against Riverside King, totaling 29 points and 12 rebounds. G Jrue Holiday, Campbell Hall 6-4 Sr. A big, strong point guard or a silky-smooth shooting guard, take your pick. Holiday wreaked havoc from a variety of spots on the court, averaging 25.3 points, 12 rebounds, 6.8 assists and 4.6 steals. He shot 62% from the floor for the Division IV state champions and has signed with UCLA. G Malcolm Lee, Riverside North 6-5 Sr. Lee is another Southland guard who has pledged to UCLA. He’s a pure shooter who made 58% of his shots from the floor last season while averaging 23.7 points and 7.4 rebounds. Made five three-pointers and scored 30 points in a 12-point loss to Riverside King during Ivy League play. F Renardo Sidney, Fairfax 6-10 Jr. His transfer from Lakewood Artesia shifted the balance of power in the Western League, and Sidney showed why by delivering his best games against rival Westchester, including a City Section playoff semifinal during which he put the Lions on his shoulders and scored the final 11 points in the victory. Averaged 24 points and 13.3 rebounds. G Klay Thompson, Santa Margarita 6-6 Sr. Trinity League co-player of year made seven three-pointers, a state finals record, and scored 37 points, which tied a Division III state record, in leading the Eagles to a one-sided victory over Sacramento. Averaged 22.1 points on the season. Signed with Washington State. F David Wear, Mater Dei 6-10 Jr. Earned Division I-AA player and Trinity League co-player of the year honors after averaging 16.8 points and 8.9 rebounds for the Division II state champions. Scored 21 points in a 75-59 victory over Fresno Edison in the regional final, and 14 in the state championship game against San Jose Mitty. Committed to North Carolina. F Eric Wise, Riverside King 6-5 Sr. Wise’s wide body and ball-handling skills made him a match-up nightmare. He averaged 20.3 points and 9.2 rebounds in leading the Wolves to the Division I-A title and the Southern California Regional Division I final. Coach of the year: Tim Sweeney Jr., Riverside King After single-digit regular-season losses to Mater Dei and Dominguez, Sweeney guided the Wolves to the Division I-A title and victories over Fremont, Westchester and Taft in the Division I regional playoffs. His compassion also surfaced when the father of one of his players, Kawhi Leonard, was shot and killed during the season. *--*
